Cancellation & Late attendance policy

HIGH ABOVE Cancellation Policy updated July 2024 At HIGH ABOVE

we try to make our policy as fair as possible for our clients and instructors. As a boutique studio we have limited spaces within all classes and workshops, please be considerate if you need to cancel any classes, workshop or private lesson and do them as early as possible to open up your space/ timeslot to other clients.

 

Casual classes can be cancelled up to 3 hours prior to class commencing and must be successfully cancelled within our booking system. Any casual class cancelled less than 3 hours the class are not refundable and will be paid as if you had attended.

 

Casual class packs are valid for 3 months from purchase, class pack can only be used by the purchaser. Any classes not used by the valid date will be forfeited. We do not offer refunds or class extensions.

 

Workshop have a 24hour cancellation policies, no refund will be provided to cancellations made after 24hours.

 

Workshop terms may vary depending on the event so please check these when making a booking.

 

Courses are to be paid in full in order to reserve your space. In the unfortunate event that you require to cancel, cancellation must be made 72 hours prior to course commencing. Cancellations made less than 72hours are not eligible for a refund. If you are unable to attend a week within your course, HIGH ABOVE does not owe any refunds, transfer or make up classes.

 

Parties, studio hire and private lessons require a deposit to secure you reservation/ or payment in full.  Full payment is required to be made in full 24 hour prior to party/lesson commencing. Parties and Studio hire must be cancelled 1 full week in advance otherwise deposit is non-refundable.

 

Depending on the specific date and how far away the booking is -HIGH ABOVE may specify  alternative cancellation dates and terms, this will be advised when the booking reservation is made.

 

Private lessons must be cancelled 24 hours in advance otherwise deposit is non-refundable.

Late Arrival Policy

To ensure the safety and experience of all participants, late arrivals will not be permitted to join classes or workshops once they have commenced. This policy applies regardless of the reason for lateness. No refunds, credits, or transfers will be provided for missed sessions due to late attendance.

 

We understand that life can sometimes get in the way of class and cancellation can be unavoidable. If your circumstances change please contact us as soon as possible. HIGH ABOVE reserves the right to change this Cancellation Policy at any time and will post an updated version of this policy on our website www.highabove.co.nz

Health & Safety Policy

At High Above your safety is our top priority. Due to the physically demanding nature of pole and aerial fitness, all clients are expected to adhere to the following health and safety guidelines:

1. Medical Conditions & Injuries

  • You must inform your instructor of any injuries, medical conditions, or physical limitations before participating in any class or workshop.

  • Participation is at your own risk. If unsure, please consult a medical professional before beginning pole or aerial training.

  • If you're pregnant, please notify us prior to booking so we can advise on appropriate class options.

2. Warm-Up & Cool-Down

  • All clients are required to participate in the full warm-up and cool-down sections of class to reduce the risk of injury.

  • Late arrivals may be refused entry for safety reasons and will not be refunded or credited.

3. Appropriate Clothing & Grip

  • Wear appropriate clothing: pole participants are encouraged to wear shorts and sleeveless tops; aerial participants should wear fitted clothing without loose embellishment, no zips or sharp items, or Velcro to be wore.

  • No body oils, lotions, or moisturisers should be worn on the day of your pole class — these can make the poles slippery and dangerous.

  • Remove all jewellery, including rings, bracelets, and watches, before participating. Failure to do so will result in you being unable to participate in the class. In such cases, no refunds, credits, or transfers will be provided.

  • Socks are compulsory for all Hammock classes.

4. Use of Equipment

  • Only use studio equipment as instructed. Do not attempt moves that have not been taught or approved by your instructor.

  • Report any damage or faults in the equipment immediately to a staff member.

5. Personal Responsibility

  • Listen carefully to instructions and ask questions if you're unsure about any movement.

  • Take responsibility for your own physical limits — stop if something feels painful or unsafe.

  • Never train under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

6. Spotting & Assistance

  • Our instructors are trained to provide spotting and guidance. However, we may ask your consent before offering physical support.

  • A instructor may spot and touch a you without verbal consent if they deem the you to be in immediate risk or danger.

  • Students are not permitted to spot one another.

7. Cleanliness & Hygiene

  • Please wipe down poles and mats after use with the provided cleaning products.

  • Maintain good personal hygiene to support a clean and welcoming environment for all.

​

8. Emergency Procedures

  • In the event of an emergency, follow all instructions from staff immediately.

  • First Aid kits are available onsite, and instructors are first-aid trained.

  • Ensure that any accidents, even minor ones, are reported to the instructor and logged.

​

By attending classes, you agree to follow these health and safety protocols. Failure to do so may result in removal from class or suspension of membership.
